The fact she had a house (well, a home; the house was still a work in progress barely in the permit stage yet) now had changed her plans around. While initially she had only planned to stay in the States for a year, see if she could support herself and get a foot in the proverbial door where it came to the show jumping scene, given that she had property now meant she was likely to stay for quite a bit longer. Which meant she needed supplies. She'd brought only necessities the first time around, and she didn't regret that, but she was keenly aware that she couldn't rely on the same old rope halter forever, never mind that she didn't want to use her white showing pad all that much. So she had gathered her money, made a rather haphazard shopping list (reserve halter, saddle pads (1x western, 3x all purpose/jumping, girth (jumping), Stuff) and had found directions to the local tack store. Though tack store was a slight overstatement, Rae decided as she looked at the supply store. Most of the stuff outside pertained to goat, sheep and cattle, and there was an old flyer attached proclaiming the novelty of english tack. "Well," she muttered to herself as she locked her truck, figuring she might as well take a look. It wasn't quite as horsey as she had expected, but at least that likely meant they had the cheaper but still decent quality stuff as opposed to certain brands where you paid more for the name than for the product. But hey, it wasn't as if her day could be ruined. She'd gotten a good deal on a bunch of wood and livestock panels, which would hopefully become a workable round pen, and it wasn't like she was in dire need of horse-related stuff. It would just be nice to have a bit more. Cheaper than getting it sent from back home, after all. So, humming just a little to herself, she ventured into the store, veering off towards the equine area right away. Halters, at least, there were in abundance, both breakaways and rope halters, which pleased her. The downside of a sizable rack? Having to pick only a few. |
