Welcome to Choteau, Montana, in 2018. What was once only a small city focused on fossils, has now started to turn into an equestrian mecca. Everyone still knows everyone, so the question remains, what will you become?

Rae Carrigan 26 • Farrier & horse trainer • Show Jumper
Rae is a no-nonsense tough horse-woman, with at least a decade of show jumping and horse training, from fixing troubled horses to breaking in and everything in between under her belt, as well as hands-on experience as a farrier. She likes to enjoy life, and though she's pretty serious about the welfare of horses and people (and safety; there's a reason she often wears a helmet) she also loves having fun. She's a bit of an adrenalin junkie too, one might say, between the colt starting contests and the working with feral horses and the bareback jumping, and she doesn't easily shy away from an adventure.
She's made her home at Foxtail Meadow Farm
Friends Though she doesn't know many people here yet, she's pretty laid-back as long as you don't trigger any of her 'Never Ever' points, and she genuinely wants to make this both a successful and a fun time, so she's put her ambition to the backside just a tiny little bit. By nature she's kind and caring, so she may overstep boundaries occasionally in an attempt to help.
Enemies She's only recently arrived, so I dearly hope she hasn't got enemies yet, but she's pretty opinionated certainly about horse welfare, which includes topics like saddle fit, shoeing, choice of bits, spurs and whatnot. She's not afraid to advocate for other solutions.
Love She's asexual, or identifies as such, but she doesn't abhor sex. She's not a virgin, at least, but she's not really the lovey-dovey let's hit the hay type either. She definitely loves to cuddle on occasion, though, and doesn't much care about gender.
Work Rae's a farrier, who will work either at her place (which has the Clinic, both for vet and farrier duties) or come to you, especially if it's just trimming and shoeing. She also dabbles as a saddle fitter and a equine massage therapist, doing some bodywork if they seem to be too knotted up. She's a strange mix of a bleeding heart and tough farmer, so be prepared for some bold words if you hire her for something. She also trains horses, be it breaking in, schooling, or gentling a feral one.
I think Rylee Mae Olken and her would get along well, maybe good friends, if not best friends? Rylee is very confident and isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. She is opinionated, and will stick up for what she thinks is best. She is a western rider, so risks are always an option for her. She's twenty-five, and a horse trainer at Rusty Bucket Ranch.
Rylee Mae Olken I'm guessing the farrier-angle is one that could definitely work, but I'm definitely game for them meeting. She's not a western rider herself, but she's done her fair bit of trail riding and cattle musters back home, and frequently rides in a stock saddle, so I'm guessing they're not that far apart, really. Trail ride could also work - aside from her jumpers which are still due to arrive, she's also got a (brindle) Quarter horse which she started recently and a mustang mule which is a bit of an icky story, but well, might be enough to get 'em talking?

At the very least, Gail and Rae would need to have a professional relationship of client and farrier. Though, Jack is probably going to end up with a bad reputation of either not picking up his feet or trying to swat the farrier with his tail. Gail is also a nationally known show jumper. She's good enough to go to the Olympics, but didn't because her husband got into a boat crash which derailed her life for several years. Depending on how far Rae intends to go with jumping, Gail could easily be a good trainer candidate and also someone who can help judge prospects or really get Rae's foot in the door with American jumpers.
Abigail Sorenson-Faulkener She's already touching base with Luciano, the other jumper trainer, but we'll see where that goes. Maybe she wants another one for her rookies, and only use Luc for her two stars - she's got two Warmbloods she uses for 'real' jumping, having been a national rider back in NZ, and even having competed in Australia for a bit, but the US scene is new to her, and she's got a formerly feral mule and a just-broken-in QH mare, but she's going to test them both out for jumping as well, though extremely little in case of the QH 'cause of age. So there's definitely something we could play with there, I think? At least she can take a lesson to see if they mesh or not (first one will probably be on one of her normal, experienced horses xD)
As for the farrier thing, I'm good with that xD Not all horses are that well trained Rae's not easily put-out though, and will be a lovely patient person. Most of the time, at least.

Rae is available for plotting again! I'm open to quite a wide variety of plots, so hit me up with any ideas you might have and I'll yay or nay them! Or, quite possibly, outrageously embellish them for maximum fun.
