There was a quiet awe nestled in her chest at the sight of Foxtail Meadow Farm. Her farm. Well, theirs - it wasn't solely hers, she wasn't that rich. But even co-owned it felt... Very permanent, and definite, and rather amazing. Most of the farm consisted of merrily waving grasses in the distance, a good chunk of the land fenced off to be harvested and (largely) sold off as hay later on. They had to earn their money somewhere, and being a vet and a farrier didn't bring in that much. And, well, at some point they also needed at the very least another bedroom. Sharing an apartment with someone who up to then had basically only been a pen pal was perhaps jumping ahead a little... Much.
Despite herself, she wasn't overly musically inclined, and she was pretty sure she was tonedeaf to boot, but Nella didn't complain much, and as she stood there alone, surveying her new kingdom, she really couldn't care less. She had had dreams about owning a place like this. Some more stalls, maybe, and not sharing the hay barn apartment with a girl she barely knew (in person, but had gotten along with splendidly through Skype and whatnot), and she wasn't sure she had factored in just how luxurious it would be - in her dreams, there were basic stalls, most with a little run-out attached, nothing quite like the utter luxury the seven stalls had. Ironically, she was pretty sure half her horses wouldn't settle well in them.
]Didn't matter though. They'd find occupants for them. Celeste had her own little herd, after all, and as much as Rae tried to contain herself, she was pretty sure that her own herd would expand in due time. Be it through breeding (she was insanely curious if Shiloh's colour was hereditary) or through purchases. She was a sucker for the difficult ones, after all. And with a vet on site she could take a bit more risk, too. Suddenly, that future she'd always been working towards was here, and it was weird. Good weird, though, most of the time - occasionally, she still freaked out about it. She'd get over that real quick though - while she'd never bought something of this magnitude, she wasn't alone in this, and it was something she'd been preparing for. She'd run a barn back home, after all, was fairly successful in her endeavors. This wasn't going to be a disaster. She wasn't going to let that happen.
"What d'you think, Nella? Feel like home?" Because while it didn't to her, not yet, she knew it would. She'd fallen in love with the place, not just for the spacious stalls and the fancy indoor and the opportunities there were to make money off of the land, recoup some of their investment. She could already see it - hay land in the distance. A group of youngstock during summers in one of the closer huge pastures, once it was properly fenced and had a shelter or two for them. A nice little house, maybe two, for Celeste and her. Yeah, this could definitely become home.
