Perseus is one of our older residents, who has been brought in from another state. He is an absolute sweetheart, and a major love bug, however his age and breed leave him to be overlooked. His favourite thing to do is to snuggle against his handler, or sunbathe when allowed.

We can only assume she was bred by a person only in it for money, as she's grown older she's started to show some worrying habits, including a tendancy towards resource guarding, and seeming to startle if someone approaches her from behind.

Boss was found roaming the countryside, covered in ticks, dragging a length of rope, with an embedded collar to top it all off. Because of this, and the fact when we brought him in he hadn't been done, its hard to decipher whether his owners abandoned him to fend for himself, or if he got out looking for ladies. Either way, he's a very rambunctious dog, prone to playing rough, and needs firm handling to ensure he doesn't knock everyone over in his sheer exuberance.

Sunshine was found wandering the streets of New York, and was due to be euthanized just because of her breed. She was taken in by Bright Eyes on the day she was due to be humanely euthanized, and since then they've been working to find a home.

Japp belonged to an older owner, who unfortunately passed away. While his next of kin were originally happy to take this loyal pooch in, his tendency to run away meant that after the third time he made his way back to Choteau, they decided they didn't want to make the drive back up to retrieve him. He's very nervous, and very shy in his kennel, and he would need a patient owner to bond with.

Bright Eyes found out about him when he was on death row and applied to get him transferred to them. Since then he's stayed.

Lassie has only been here for a short time, and she was surrendered to us after a messy divorce, and neither of her owners could keep her. A very bright dog, she's also bursting with energy and has a high herding and chase drive.

However the economic downturn forced them to sell and move into a rental flat, and Barbarian just had to go. He gets anxious about people leaving him, and he's very much a one person dog.
