Kacey hadn't really used the library when he was younger. Sure there were those trips that the school did a few times a month when in elementary school but that had been the end of it. Somehow books weren't that important then. Since then things had changed though. While he was not some avid reader all of the sudden, he could appreciate having it around now.
So there he was, with his newly minted library card, sat in a chair reading a copy of Cat Behavior For Dummies. Honestly, he could have just as easily checked the book out and went home but he didn't care to. Part of it was that the chairs here were nicer than the ones he had in what used to be an attic. But what did he expect? The rent was cheap for a reason and that fit in nicely with his dwindling savings. The bigger problem he had at the moment though was Colin. Without a doubt, Kacey wanted to avoid that scruffy, little fur ball as long as possible.
Yeah, he had been chased from his own dwelling by a five and a half pound cat. A cat who terrorized his life and he put up with it. Ever since that adoption event day where he had filled out an application almost as a joke for the cat, things hadn't been the same. He couldn't even believe they let him have the cat anyway. Of course, by day two Kacey was pretty sure that the rescue had just wanted to be rid of the little asshole.
With the loss of another set of curtains, the increased damage to the sofa and the stolen sausage (and that was just this morning!) Kacey found himself at wits end. Somewhere in this book had to explain what in the hell was wrong with the cat. There had to be something. Something that could turn Colin into a nice pet instead of what he was. A bit of an inconsiderate roommate who doesn't contribute and steals food out of the fridge. So far he hadn't any luck but he'd find something. There was a whole section on cats. One of the books just had to have the answer. It was out there somewhere. He just knew it!
