[attr="class","box2"]The snow was finally gone, and it was nice enough to go to the park. Aurora had been begging Elianna to take her since the snow had melted. The eight-year-old needed to get out and play. Maybe some social interaction for her would do her good. School was out, so that made it harder for her. Especially with Elianna working. Aurora spent most of her time at the barn with Elianna. The poor kid knew the barn chores almost as well as any groom that worked there. And of course, Aurora knew all of the horses and the people in the barn. She was a bright child. "Don't get out of sight," Elianna warned the girl. She sat back into a bench, enjoying the view. The park was pretty, now that it didn't have any snow lingering. It was a nice, sunny day. A perfect day. Aurora ran and played on the equipment, enjoying her time with the other kids around. Elianna didn't recognize any of them, but she also wasn't paying much attention. Her main focus was Aurora. Elianna pulled out a book to read, still keeping the child in her peripheral vision. Her maternal instincts had taken over her since the day Paislee had brought the child home. Knowing Paislee, the child's biological mother, Elianna had stepped in to parent the child at a young age. Eighteen, and barely out of school, Elianna decided to try to help Paislee raise Aurora. But Paislee had other priorities on her mind, and left the baby with Elianna. Elianna took over legal custody from Paislee when Aurora was three. And Paislee hadn't said a word since.
