Welcome to Choteau, Montana, in 2018. What was once only a small city focused on fossils, has now started to turn into an equestrian mecca. Everyone still knows everyone, so the question remains, what will you become?

Owen's a casual dresser, truthfully on occasion his clothes might not even match (usually when running small errands.) He's not one for a tux or tie, but if he's allowed to wear his boots to the event he'll tolerate it. A tee, jeans, and a ballcap suffice most days, anything more is a pressed pearl snap western shirt. Owen typically keeps his 5 o'clock shadow on the heavy side and it's always there, rarely ever shaven.
At 6'3", his build lies closer to athletic than body builder, however he has noticeable muscle definition. There's a tattoo of the letters "OH" on his back right butt cheek, earned from a lost bet as a teen and a gnarly scar on his right calf from a fight with a bull. He has dark blue eyes and brown hair, in case anyone is wondering.
Personality
You can easily mistake him for being aloof, however Owen's an extrovert. He can be quiet, heedful, traits of an analytical mind. He's good at counting fives steps ahead and speaking with a calm southern fluency as if he's rehearsed everything he says. Diversely helpful, Owen is that endless pit of useless information that's actually helpful to have around, mostly for tradeschool-based knacks such as vehicles, household repairs, and of course livestock. It makes him look like a down home country boy, but he's not Redneck Billy.
He's humble, has a great sense of humor, however has a streak of jealousy. Owen can get over protective and testy with those who try to rival him. He's past the "player" stage of life, however currently not invested in finding The One, though if she happens to find him, he'll do his best to keep her. Always looking for a ladder to climb, his jealousy has a tendency to lead him to be deceitful and selfish in some instances. Not a day can go by where Owen believes he's at the best point he can be.
History
Choteau wasn't the first place Owen pictured himself settling in, frankly he's not too sure if "settling" is a word he could use right now. He grew up denying that he lived in the shadow of his older brother, but his competitive temperament to be better than the rest and prove he's more than implied showed. It wasn't petty, the necessity to live out from under his older sibling, but being second-born of eleven cousins, Owen felt suffocated on the family's 2,000-acre cattle ranch.
Since birth, Owen's older brother was destined to uphold a tradition dating back to the 1800's, to own and run the ranch come time, leaving Owen sitting on a stump debating what to do with his life. What he could make of his name, on his own. So as he aged, Owen dabbled in a bit of it all, easily progressing in horse training more than anything else. It came by him naturally, landing Owen a spot on a reined cow horse ranch in central Colorado training and showcasing mounts in nationwide competitions.
He climbed to the top ten for a consecutive handful of years, reaching third in the world at the age of twenty-one. In the latter of those years, Owen found and married a girl, another horse trainer, thinking things might just fall into place like a sappy country love song. For two years Owen believed it, however in a twist of scandals within the reined cow horse community, ties between Owen and his wife scorched and severed. Dropping everything, and newly divorced, Owen picked up and rolled northbound in pursuit a lead of a town with a police department in search of recruits. Suppose one day Owen will get back into horse training, but for now, he's on a new avenue.
