Welcome to Choteau, Montana, in 2018. What was once only a small city focused on fossils, has now started to turn into an equestrian mecca. Everyone still knows everyone, so the question remains, what will you become?

A white van drove up the lane, parking near the stables. Equine Vet read the big and bold letters on the vehicle. All animals welcome was written underneath, combined with a telephone number. It was Celeste's own handy work, yet a new, professional logo had been created. One she liked a lot better, one that wasn't as spontaneous.
Celeste could not wait for her new clinic to open. The building had started by now and soon the clinic would be where clients came to them. Of course she would keep the van in use, after a repaint, it was great for emergencies or when an entire stable would be needing vaccines. But it would be a lot calmer. The woman smiled as she got a pile of leaflets from the passenger seat. Those already sported the new name, and the expected opening date, and address. On every leaflet you could press out a small piece, the size of a creditcard, which held both her telephone number and that of Rae, together with some of the services they offered. She as vet, for both emergencies as planned vaccines and things like clinical checks, while Rae was a farrier, a saddle fitter and offered equine massages. Together they could serve pretty much the whole spectrum.
The young woman stepped out of her car. She kind of hoped to encounter someone that looked like he or she worked here, to ask if it was okay to leave a pile of leaflets behind. She closed the door behind her and locked the vehicle. There were enough medicines in there to knock out a horse, literally. Celeste really didn't want those to end in the wrong hands, considering anyone that either had no clue what it was and what it could do and anyone that had ill-bearing intentions.
As she did not see anyone right away she entered the stable building where she thought to have heard a voice.

Kennedi brushed out the coat of her bay, trying to get him in top shape for the upcoming events. She knew he needed some work, as his winter coat was shedding out pretty bad. She would be in their for hours if she tried to get him to where he needed to be. She figured she would just have to do it in bits. Otherwise, she'd never get any real work done. Of course, she was off the clock now. She was usually busy with other tasks when it came to working as a groom at the farm. Rebel flicked his ears at her as she got to his favorite spot under his mane. He loved being rubbed in that particular spot. Kennedi gave him a little bit of extra attention, and gave into his want. He flexed back, and rubbed his face onto her. She pushed him away, half-laughing at the horse. "Be good," she jokingly disciplined him.
As she was brushing the bay, she heard a noise coming from the front of the stable. She peered out of the stall she was in, and saw a person who didn't quite look familiar to her. "Hello?" she called out, questioning the woman. Though she shouldn't have been questioning the appearance of someone new. New people were in and out of the barn all day long. At least, they were new to Kennedi. She figured she was more questioning why the person looked lost, so she hoped the woman took it that way as well. After all, it was just a hello.

Silently she had cursed herself as to why she had decided to go here. After all, Rae was so much more outgoing than she was, herself. She glanced into the first stall she saw. Empty. It's inhabitant probably turned out or working. She walked on. She always felt like an intruder in someone else's barn. The next stall held a horse in what seemed like a healthy condition and the vet smiled. Celeste looked up as she heard a laugh further down the aisle. "Hi? Visitor here" she announced her presence, her voice slightly softer than she had intended. Suddenly a face popped out of a stall, greeting her with a questioning hello.
Celeste smiled and called back a friendly "Hello!" as she started walking over to the stall where the other woman was. She reached the stall quickly, glad to have found at least some person in this barn, instantly feeling less like an intruder. "hello" she repeated with a smile now they were within proper talking distance. "I am a veterinarian and I will be setting up a clinic, not that far from here, together with a farrier." she explained, hoping to gain the woman as a future customer. "and I wanted to leave a few of these flyers here, to announce the opening of our clinic..." She couldn't help but look at the thoroughbred the woman seemed to be brushing before her arrival and smiled. "That is a handsome horse" she complimented, slightly distracted from her original goal. Celeste smiled an apology. Sometimes she thought she really shouldn't talk that much. "You are of course welcome to see everything." she now invited the young woman, turning back to her original subject.
Kennedi was new to the barn, but loved the time she had spent there. When she was in the barn, she was in heaven. It was her favorite place to be. Especially when she was able to work with Rebel. Her gelding was the light of her life. Though, she didn't even mind working. It was a huge difference from her past, but she was happy with her job, so far. It was different, and she didn't think she'd be doing it forever, but it was fun for the time being. She definitely needed to figure out her path and where she was headed in life.
Kennedi stepped out of the stall completely, and smiled at the stranger. "Hi!" she replied, excitedly. She was always excited at the prospect of meeting a new person. To her, a new person meant a new friend. "Oh! That would be a fun job," she said, slightly going off topic. It had given her an idea of where she might want to lead her career path in. She tuned back into the woman's words, and nodded. "I'm sure you can leave these here. I work here, but it's not my barn. But, I'm sure it's fine. They're usually okay with it," she gabbed, not actually sure if the owner's would be okay with it or not. But really, what was the harm? A new vet and farrier would be a good thing for them.
"Thank you," she said, turning to admire her horse with the woman. "His name is Rebel." She just loved her horse. The bay snorted at the pair as if to say hello. Kennedi smirked. "He's a bit of a show-off," she commented. "To see the clinic? I would love to! That would be so exciting, seeing how an actual vet's office works and everything..." she drifted off, her head being filled with thoughts of her becoming a vet.
